I have downloaded MiniToolBox and the following log was taken when it failed a ping test by the Intel Wifi Manual Diagnostics. I might have a wireless USB I'll look around for it. I will try a static IP address but it does not help my ability to connect to public networks or to my school network. When this happens I can't even do anything with the DHCP renew because it says there is no media present.Īll other wireless devices work fine (like 8 others that are sometimes connected). When it can find SSID it takes a long period of time to try and connect and then drops out saying problems connecting to network. Sometimes cannot even find the SSID I'm trying to connect to Connects to internet and runs for a little while before slowly displaying "connecting to _" websites longer and longer until its in the minutes I have an old Dell 1525 I put right next to this one to test interference and it has no problems whatsoever. Router settings, reset to factory defaults on home router this happens on every internet source I've attempted to connect to (home, friends place, school, D&D, etc.)Ĭard and router run at 2.4 ghz. Turning on and off the wireless card by switch: Resulted in nothing TCP/IP reset: Did nothing but make the period between intermittent connections worse. DHCP reset where I disabled the card in device manager => enabling => ipconfig /release => ipconfig /renew in cmd: Resulted in the first time doing this only reconnecting to my home router and degrading back to nothing
Replaced the wireless card with another of the exact type: Resulted in a few hours of normal operation before degrading back to the same problems

Currently have only the device driver for WLAN (no other software) from Intel website for this exact card.

Reinstalling drivers twice once with drivers from Lenovo, once with drivers from Intel. It has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 wireless card in it. The ethernet connection still works great. Everytime I've used it since the internet has been shady and intermittent and completely random. The internet worked great the first day before it started to decay in quality. I've basically refurbished and upgraded the computer but the only problem I'm having is with the wifi. I have recently purchased a Lenovo Y560 (0646-2EU) laptop from a friend and started having internet issues shortly after installing a new SSD with a fresh copy of Windows 7 with all updates on it.
